Surprised onlookers react to fake cocaine in Cape Town’s streets

Passers by were shocked to see a pedestrian drop a pouch of cocaine on the sidewalk in this footage posted to YouTube. 

Some went as far as to take the package and run. The test was filmed in Cape Town, South Africa by Chris Grande, who said he just wanted "to see how people would react to drugs being dropped in public."

One onlooker reacted in disbelief as the fake cocaine owner dropped his 'fix' right in front of him, showing his friends the find. Another while a parking attendant tries to stamp it out.

A skate boarder later comes along and picks it up on a busy high street lined with shops and restaurants.

"After watching this video, I think I might have underestimated the number of coke heads in South Africa," said Sír Jez Mukwevho on Facebook.
